The project analyses the legal, regulatory and policy implications of developing cutting-edge smart eyewear products that incorporate eye-tracking technology.

It reflects on the current legal challenges that eye-tracking technologies might pose for fundamental rights, mainly privacy and data protection, and how developers and policymakers can work together to overcome these challenges.

In particular, the project explores how the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) can be applied to designing and developing smart eyewear products that incorporate eye-tracking technologies.

This project receives funding from the Market Donors of the Centre for a Digital Society.
