The Centre is part of the European University Institute and funded by the European Commission (via structural funding, service contracts and grants, awarded via competitive tender procedures) as well as contributions from market donors. In accepting private funding, the Centre respects the highest academic standards, in terms of intellectual rigor and independence. In this regard, the CDS fully complies with the EUI Guidelines on Ethics and Integrity in Academic Research and the EUI General Principles concerning the Receipt of External Funds. In particular, the EUI Funding  Committee regularly scrutinises any external funding from private Donors received by the CDS.
