Biography
Katarina de Brisis is Deputy Director General in the Department of National digitalisation policy in the Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Governance in Norway.
In the years 2009-2024 she has been responsible for co-ordination of the government’s ICT-policy, including policies for digitalisation of the public sector and digitalisation of businesses.
She had the general responsibility for developing the national strategy for artificial intelligence in Norway, development of strategy for digital government, and the national strategy for ICT R&D. She was also responsible for the government’s strategy for data driven economy, including open government data, a national strategy for electronic identity in the public sector and a strategy for digital inclusion.
She has extensive experience in international relations within digital policy development, at the Nordic, EU and OECD level.
In the latest years she had general responsibility for developing Norway’s new national digitalisation strategy, published in September 2024.
She is now working as a specialist director with artificial intelligence, electronic identity and digital public governance issues.
Ms de Brisis holds Master of science in informatics (computer science) and an MBA in public finances and management. She has working experience of 44 years within the ICT-area, the latest years in digital policy design and co-ordination.
