Biography
Andrea Simoncini is Full Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Florence, where he also teaches courses on technology and the law, including Constitutional Law of Technology and Rights and Rules for Artificial Intelligence.
He has served as Director of the Department of Legal Sciences and as a law clerk at the Italian Constitutional Court. A Fulbright Distinguished Fellow and Visiting Professor at the University of Notre Dame, he is currently Permanent Research Fellow at the Notre Dame Center for Ethics and Culture.
He is co-founder of the International Research Group on Algorithmic State, Market & Society – Constitutional Dimensions and Principal Investigator of national research projects on AI and cybersecurity. His research focuses on Italian and European constitutional law, the regulation of digital technologies—particularly artificial intelligence and cybersecurity—the evolution of legal sources, and the relationship between natural law and contemporary constitutional systems.
